What is it? OntoArte indicates a movement of thought that concentrates all artistic manifestations that derive from the ontological-humanistic intentionality, which is conceived as the aprioristic formalization of our existence. A. Prof. Antonio Meneghetti is the Founder of OntoArte. He specified the motives and coordinates of OntoArte for the first time during a concert in Rome in 1976. Through OntoArte , he proposed an alternative, contraposed to that common understanding of art which also encompasses moments of corruption of intelligence or perception. He claims that the artist needs to have an inner order, a spiritual capacity in connection with the very order of life. OntoArte cannot be identified with any particular style, expressive technique or established school. It asserts that, first of all, the work needs to be healthy, simple and truthful. Healthy in the sense that it should not be the projection of the artist's illness, depression or failure. OntoArte rejects a conception of art as the expression of sorrow; instead, it asserts being-for-art, being-for-life, and hence health, self-fulfillment, functionality and the evolution of the artist himself. The creativity proposed by OntoArte has to do, first of all, with the exactness, the authenticity of the artist. Being a fulfilled person, who has already been able to demonstrate his stature through superior historical and social achievements, and is constantly seeking new horizons is an irreplaceable professional premise for the production of art. Creativity, in the OntoArtistic conception, is primarily something that the individual owes to himself . Creativity is attained through progressive inner evolution, through the iterated solution of the existential problems that we face, each in his own way. There is no leap to creativity, but a path of constant growth, and the path is drawn by the difficulties and stimulation that the historical environment provides. We may summarize the premises for an OntoArtistic discourse in the following points:
OntoArte is not a therapeutic practice, nor is it technical in essence. Rather, it elucidates and develops the inner meaning of aesthetic pleasure, in connection or in synchrony with the ontic intentionality of human nature . In this context, "ontic intentionality" indicates the presence or revelation of the primary project through the artistic sign. OntoArte does not concentrate on any "external" rules or fixed ideas; instead, it is based exclusively on a criterion of subjective functionality. Through the school of OntoArte , subjects who have artistic potential learn to realize or "invent" the best relation they can establish with the realm of aesthetics. Any objectification should be a work of art, before and within yourself. It should lead to a threefold result:
